soft edges

This piece is an early experiment in an ongoing project: a visual exploration of water, deep time, urban life, climate and imagination. I am using multimedia and printmaking to evoke the past pre-colonial waterways and landscapes of the DC urban area where I live.

An act of visual imagination that thinks in past and future tenses. Through remembering how water wants to be free, I imagine an urban future that includes water as ally, as life-giving, as regenerative, as joyful, as essential to who we are.
